Powder Coating Finish

Prior to the powder coat process, each shaft section undergoes thorough cleaning using steel shot blasting. This process, meeting the Steel Structures Painting Council Surface Preparation Specification No. 6 (SSPC-SP6), ensures optimal surface preparation.

For the powder coat application, we utilize electrostatic spraying, the most common and effective method. The powder is fed pneumatically from a reservoir to a spray gun, where a low amperage, high voltage charge is imparted to the particles. The charged particles seek the oppositely-charged metal surface, resulting in a uniform, monolithic, fusion-bonded finish. The powder coated steel parts then go through an oven, where resins, pigments, and other reactive agents cross-link to produce a high molecular weight binder system, creating a tough and durable coating.

Our powder coating is specifically developed for outstanding weatherability, toughness, and architectural aesthetics. It provides better corrosion, impact, chip, and scratch resistance compared to traditional brush-on paint methods. To ensure the protection of our poles during shipping, each pole section is wrapped in a protective foam wrap.
